Rolling
Stone Magazine to be published in Brazil in the Fall
The
biggest music magazine in the world, Wennermedia´s Rolling Stone
will launch an edition in Portuguese starting in the fall. It is
the second time it happens, the first was 34 years ago (1972) and
lasted for just a year and a half. This time it will have a
Brazilian partner and 50% of the contents will be taken from the
American edition and the other half will be generated locally,
featuring Brazilian artists. It will be published monthly and the
first pressing will be 100.000 copies. If it suceeds it will be
the biggest magazine ever dedicated, at least in part, to
Brazilian music. Brazil has a bad rap concerning music
publications, all titles released in the magazine format have
failed after a short period, the only survivors are fanzines and
small scale tabloids.
